Assistant Professor

Experimental Condensed Matter Physics/Materials Science

The Department of Applied Physics at Yale University invite applications for a faculty appointment at the intersection of experimental materials science and experimental condensed matter physics. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Professor level.

The successful candidate is expected to initiate a vibrant research group, be an interactive member of the Applied Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or an equivalent degree, at the time of the hire. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023.

Quantum Information Theory

The Department of Applied Physics at Yale University and the Yale Quantum Institute invite applications for a faculty appointment in the area of theoretical quantum information science and technology. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Professor level. Quantum science and engineering is one of five top priority areas identified in the University’s Science Strategy Report and we have a vibrant and expanding community both in the Yale Quantum Institute and described more broadly at Quantum at Yale. Yale is engaged in a campus-wide investment in quantum science, engineering, and materials. Along with multiple appointments in these areas, the University has committed to, and is in the planning stages for, a new Physical Science and Engineering building which will provide state-of-the-art facilities in quantum science, including quantum information science and quantum computing.
